A Ship Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the technical and operational issues of the assigned vessels 24/7.
They are responsible for:
- Maintenance of the ships.
- Preparation of dry docking specifications and programmes.
- Inspections and visits to the vessels.
- Control of fuel and lube oil consumption.
- Assisting the vessels in technical and nautical related matters.
- Ordering spares, material supplies to the vessels and their record keeping.
- Ensuring the validity of statutory, class and other certificates.
- Assessing reports from Chief Engineer Officers and others related to the technical operation of vessels.
- Carrying out investigations and enquiries of accidents and incidents involving machinery and deck
- Assistance in establishing an annual budget for each vessel with respect to technical running costs and dry docking, and ensuring that ongoing costs are properly monitored.
- Taking necessary measures to ensure the satisfactory condition of lubricating and hydraulic oils in service on board the Company's vessels.
- Solving problems 24/7.
